Intro

IT’S JUST LIKE. I have to open on a few very important facts about the universe I’m playing in so the rest makes sense lol

> Anna is 1.0 WoL

> she is childhood friends with Minfilia because they grew up in Ul’dah together. Or. I guess since they were both like ~12 or whatever.

> Anna was on the fields of Carteneau when Dalamud fell, fighting with the other Flames, mostly. She, uh, got distracted when Dalamud started hatching and an opportunist from the imperial army attacked, chopping off her arm.

> Louisoix hastily teleported her to safety after this so he could deal with Bahamut himself, but he was very distracted and botched it a little: she is instantly also teleported five years into the future, landing proverbially in Minfilia’s lap in the Waking Sands

> Anna lost five years, feels like Louisoix died to Bahamut just months ago, and also spends the first half of ARR (up to Titan) on bed rest or otherwise recovering considering, you know, >lost an arm

> thankfully my friend aera’s wol Almond is here to pick up the slack!

Whoops!)) ((yes this is an excuse just to throw other AUs of her in the pile sometimes))

Oh wow i thought she was older than 26 in SHB. i mean i guess it’s 27 after SHB depending on how long she was on the First lol. Anyway her being like significantly younger than other Annas i’ve written is important part of the experience

1) What is a hidden talent that your OC has? Secretly a great baker or gymnast?

I don’t think it’s hidden but I decided I want her to be good at parkour

2) Who is your OC’s non-romantic trusted friend/confidant? Someone they can rely on an open up to at their lowest or maybe just someone that’s always been dependable?

Minfilia probably....... childhood friends......... also I hate this question because “non-romantic” doesn’t make it any more/less valid lolol..... like I hate that it’s given that Almond is her ~top confidant~ due to them dating because I don’t think Almond ever “replaces” Minfilia it’s just she understands what Anna’s going thru differently because. Same WoL.

And then I mean. Minfilia freaking dies. But. Waugh also idk if Anna has a Most she trusts all the freaking scions. Thancred is funnily enough second even tho he’s. like that.

3) If you have a WoL ship, how did they become official? Was it an awkward? A nervous first date? Who made the first move? As much detail as you fancy!

Sometimes you just ship your wol with your friend’s wol and they’re very much in love....

Anyway it takes them forever to start talking because tfw you not only are coping with 1) losing five years 2) and your arm 3) and Louisoix 4) and can’t do your normal WoL duties 5) and some other girl is here doing them for you and like she didn’t replace you, you KNOW that, but man!!! Also you accidentally mistook her for someone else when you first met her which she reacted poorly too...

They eventually start talking after the raid on the waking sands because they gotta work together and start getting along after anddddd idk if it takes them until like the post-ARR but pre-HW lull to actually “get” “together” but I know eventually they both succumb to “sometimes you just wanna make out with cute girl”.... I think the conversation actually goes like Almond nervously asking the Scions – or at least Minfilia, who is Anna’s best friend – for advice about how to approach and Minfilia’s like “oh lol don’t worry it’s Anna she’s really easy to talk to. Trust me. she’ll even let you down gently if she’s not interested.”

And of course next time they interact Anna’s like “haha hey wanna make out?” before Almond can say a damn thing. lmao.

I think they start officially Dating instead of just being fwb during the post ARR lull for sure, but how long they’ve been fwb before that is a mystery to me

The Dating dating convo was also just like anna voice “I love you lol” almond voice “h” anna voice “oh shit you have FEELINGS feelings for me okay okay well I’m down to clown”.

4) What was a moment your OC was at their lowest? What broke them? Was there someone there to console them?

Like Anna handles a lot of things poorly and admittedly post banquet is bad considering 1) framed for murder 2) potentially everyone is dead 3) Minfilia is almost definitely dead 4) handled seeing raubahn’s arm get chopped off so poorly Almond had to carry her out and she was catatonic basically until Minfilia stayed behind. Whoops!

However I think showing up after losing five years and her arm is probably the lowest point for her. but also. Being wol is suffering. Lol.

5) How was your OC’s childhood? Did they come from humble beginnings? Childhood friends with another character? What was life like for your young OC in the early days?

Has a pretty normal childhood! Er! By some definition of normal. Her dads left Doma when the Garleans invaded when she was about 3 and they landed in Thanalan, and raised her in Ul’dah after. Pretty normal childhood there!! Spent her time bugging Raubahn and bullying the pugilist guild into letting her train despite being super freaking young (but also, you know they’ll do that, you can have kids start martial arts at like 5)

Ends up being childhood friends with Minfilia when they meet!! It’s about when Anna’s 12 and Minfilia is also. Er. is she also 12? anyway yanno. They’re best friends ever since which is like 90% of the reason Anna is even with the Path of the Twelve and then the Scions lol

6) What is a secret mundane weakness of your OC? Do they cry at sad movies? Melt whenever there are puppies around? Not a strong swimmer?

Funny answer: very easily distracted by Hot Sexy of all genders. However she currently in a committed relationship,,

REAL answer: she is literate! But has not quite learned how to write with her left hand legibly after losing her right so uh. Don’t ask her to write anything. And also don’t get too mad at her when she snaps because she’s sick of having to ask other ppl to write things for her,

7) When is a time your OC was overcome with rage? With sorrow? With anger? Did they lash out in anger or did they seethe in silence?

Oh Anna always always always always lashes out with her everything lol.

Also it’s: end of 1.0. is the most rage and sorrow she’s ever felt the most Despair. But coming back after losing five years and also her arm was a pretty low point for her too

8) What is the biggest change you made to the canon story of #FFXIV for your OC? Do you colour within the lines or do you like to go wild with it? Maybe your OC isn’t even the Warrior of Light?

Like, this is my soup and I’m adjusting the plot as necessary to account for 1) Anna and Almond dual WoL plot 2) with a side of maybe triple WoL plot if Aodhan is here 3) not only how it changes due to dual WoLs but also how Anna and Almond and Aodhan would just fuck up the plot by being themselves.

Like, each expansion still happens, but each expansion happens... a little differently. I think ARR might be the most vanilla lol. SHB gets fucked up by the WoLs arriving at different times and Anna being unable to wait so she starts some of the plot and kills lightwardens out of order before Almond gets there.

But STB suffers the most because Anna kills Yotsuyu on sight. I’m so sorry Yotsuyu I love you but Anna simply will not stand by unless someone physically restrains her and Almond is just going to be like [hands her the sword] so uh. That’s fun!

Anyway it’s my soup and I will play in it :)

9) What is something your OC takes the most pride in? Are they a proud warrior? A shark at Triple Triad? Maybe the best dressed fashion icon of Eorzea? Flex what ya got!

Anna absolutely owns every inch of being the WoL I think she just. You don’t get good at taking out primals or imperial armies without flaunting it at some point I think?? When your punch can kill gods, like. I MEAN ITS JUST ANNA’S PERSONALITY I GUESS? It’s not proud warrior as much as it is “I am a damn good pugilist and you will respect me”

Also I think she takes pride in beign good at sex LMAO. IT’S. like there’s definitely more to her character I promise but I am also gently pushing against my stigmas??? This is getting away from me but like anna’s an adult and she thinks sex is fun and I do genuinely think she takes pride in how good she is at giving her partners a good time. Lmao.

Things anna takes pride in: that she’s good at sex and that her fists are legally classified as weapons.

I think she also used to be really good at parkour and took pride in that but losing an arm has. Well it hasn’t set her back completely but enough that she’s frustrated.

10) Who is a character your OC is ALWAYS getting into trouble with? Which of them is the worse influence? What kind of mischief is their favourite?

I definitely think Anna and Minfilia got up to a lot of shit as children especially since how they met was just a string of Anna snooping increasingly where she shouldn’t have been and whoops tripped on Minfilia’s tragic backstory. Anna is the worse influence of the two but Minfilia doesn’t discourage her as much as she like, should. Mostly they enjoyed sneaking into places they shouldn’t.

Also like Anna doesn’t have a favorite twin but I will say she is a bad influence on both of them but ESPECIALLY Alisaie because like, yes, Anna is the adult of the relationship, but also Anna is absolutely never going to discourage Alisaie’s reckless ideas. Whoopsie!

Also I think Anna conspires with Y’shtola frequently to prank the other Scions. Thanks.

11) If you had to pick either a line in a song or a whole song to represent your OC, what would it be? (Also this is always true but I just want to remind yall, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO BE SELF INDULGENT! OCs are for fun, after all!)

God the only whole song I have is Take me to War by the crane wives which I relate to her a bunch despite only being like... half-good, lyrically, for her. some of them are counter to her character but this line is still good

Give me a fight I can’t resist Give me something to break with my fists Take me to war Oh, honey, I dare you

THE REAL ANSWER (HA) TO THIS QUESTION THO IS MY MUSIC TO MAKE ME SAD ABOUT ANNA CACHE IS SO SMALL (INFACT, NONEXISTENT) BECAUSE ALL I HAVE TO DO IS TURN ON ANSWERS. AND HTEN I’M CRYING LIKE A BITCH. My strongest and most adamant ffxiv opinion is that Answers is 1.0’s theme song, especially in light of how 1.0 ends, and it fits too well with the fall of dalamud to like ever at all be properly associated with ARR lol

Answers is just the theme song of fighting as hard as you can against an inevitable calamity and... it still not being enough. There’s triumph but it’s hollow and it’s ultimately a loss no matter how much you gave and bled to create a better future. It’s for the future, not for you. You lost.

And even the future was bought with a price so high it barely feels like a victory.

Anyway this line hurts me the most

Tell us why, given Life, we are meant to die, helpless in our cries?

12) Who is an NPC your OC would ask to help hide a body and who is an NPC your OC would NEVER ask to help hide a body? Who’s their ride or die and who do they fear?

The thing is I don’t think there’s a single Scion who wouldn’t help Anna hide a body. She might not ask Yshtola because Yshtola will ask too many questions tho. Actually she asks Tataru or Thancred, because they’re the most likely to go yeah okay and not ask too many questions about it

She DEFINITELY wouldn’t ask the twins for help also lmao. Or her dad. Her dad doesn’t need to judge her about this—

Tho if this question is just who are they ride or die for? Minfilia, always, forever

Also like I don’t think Anna’s “afraid” of any of the characters in this game, not even the antagonists, lol... she has a healthy fear of Y’shtola but who doesn’t

13) What is your OC’s ideal day off like? Do they continue adventuring or take it easy and lounge around? Who are their favourite people to spend the day off with?

Getting Anna to relax is a nightmare I think lol she’s so bad at it but she does greatly enjoy doing it. she just wants to lay around and. Actually she wouldn’t survive doing nothing LMAO and idk how much she likes reading (probably a fair amount actually) but I think her ideal day off is either getting to go do pugilist and/or parkour nonsense for fun or like. go hang out in ul’dah somewhere and just listen to the city. Hopefully there are some musicians or a performance near by for her to check out

Otherwise mindless exploring of places she hasn’t completely charted yet. Corners of cities and stuff not like dungeons lol.

Also like...... getting to spend whole day just relaxing with lazy sex with gf...... also... sometimes it’s not even sex it’s just cuddling and doing nothing and making out a little

Or like combine them a little go on a date around town but it’s just exploring hidden corners with your gf to laze about and also maybe make out where no one can see you do it. this is why they spend so much time sneaking off in mor dhona to increasingly hard to reach places lol

14) If the scions are throwing a party, where can we expect to find your OC? Are they the life of the party? Maybe they’re telling everyone to keep it down? How do they handle their drink, if they do?

Life of the party, likes being center of attention and recounting her various adventuring tales loudly and with less precision the more drunk she gets. Handles drinkkkkkks. Well. She’s fucking tiny because >f au ra life, but, hm. Hadn’t considered that part of the question lol. definitely drinks tho and is only held back by, physically being a light weight in a way she cannot do shit about. Pretty good at pacing herself tho imo. Lots of practice.

15) What’s your WoL’s biggest fear? Something they fear more than death? An existential dread that creeps in on only the darkest of times? Perhaps its SPIDERS?! OR GHOSTS?! TAXES!?!?

LOSING HER OTHER ARM LMFAOOOOO LIKE THAT’S A TRAUMA THING MOSTLY BUT

Also like being 1.0 Wol means she’s extremely aware of. We did everything right and still it came to this and I wonder if sometimes, in her darkest moments, she wonders if all she’s doing will EVER be enough

16) What are your Ocs canon jobs/classes? Did they pick up and learn new classes at different points in the story? Any mentors that stand out in their journey?

MNK BABEYYYYYYYYY she was a mnk during 1.0 and has a funny pug redux quests in ARR despite being “level 50” from 1.0 because, uh, her :handshake: hamon > learning how to fight with your fun new disability...

Also chii mentioned hir wol Fern maybe teaching Anna a few punch tricks and I’m :pleading_face: about it all the freaking time lol

HOWEVER at heavensward she ends up picking DRK because sometimes in all your grief and frustration you go for a midnight walk, stumble past a corpse, and are suddenly coping with your darkside telling you to stop trying to freaking do all this shit yourself and carrying everyone else’s burden and it just HITS, okay? And maybe you go back home at 4am and crawl in your window to see your gf who you have barely talked to in weeks and you 1) tell her about your cool new sword 2) MAKE UP???

Like Anna and Almond (and probably also Aodhan in the ver he’s here) split drk quests up a bit lol, I think Anna only gets 30-50, but by god, did she need 30-50. She had a real bad habit in 1.0 of doing anything and everything asked of her (TO BE FAIR. DALUMUD.) and also doing it just 100% solo so no wonder her fray is just furious with her about continuing to do that. PUT YOURSELF FIRST A LITTLE, ANNA. LOVE YOURSELF MORE. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING.

19) Who would you say is your OC’s Rival? Someone that pushes them to break past their limits and to always be stronger, either as friend or foe?

n/a lol like. I think she and Almond form a healthy understanding of each other on the battlefield and probably spar for fun sometimes (Anna is actually least likely to get completely bowled over by Almond, it’s the fighting a primal practice) because it’s nice to let your energy out in a fight when its NOT life or death you know

but Anna does not need anyone to push her to be stronger lol her whole damn problem is that she’s The Only One who can do the wol shit and she needs to step back and stop doing all of it herself. She doesn’t need to be stronger she needs to relax and STOP pushing past her limits...

LIKE... YOU DO NEED TO BE PUSHED TO YOUR LIMITS FOR GROWTH SOMETIMES... BUT FFXIV IS A STORY WHERE YOU DON’T NEED A RIVAL TO DO THAT LOL AND ESPECIALLY WITH ANNA LIKE. THE PLOT IS ALREADY CONSTANTLY PUSHING HER TO HER LIMITS. AND THAT’S A TRAGEDY

Which is why I guess a rival is a healthier way to do it but things anna doesn’t have and barely needs considering everything else is already pushing her to her limits? A rival. Lmao.

20) What’s a secret insecurity of your WoL? Something that they maybe try to hide? Something they’re ashamed to be bad at?

I think she flips constantly between “who cares if people get mad at me because I say something stupid it’s better to just own your mistakes” vs “god why do I always speak before thinking sometimes I really put my foot in it”

It’s not a SECRET but I do think her biggest negative feeling towards herself (since she’s mostly all about owning everything including her flaws) is how frustrating it is to only have one hand now also. There’s so many things that are harder to do (she has to have tataru custom make her pants that can account for tail w/o the solution being tie string above it) and so many skills that are going to be very difficult or impossible for her to learn even with tools and accommodations. And she actually is. Not great at being patient. Especially wrt learning new skills...... so any obstacle is just going to make it like impossible for her

21) What is your OC crack ship? Non-canon, off the books, never would happen but just for funsies, who’d you have your OC smooch up on?

Anna would literally love to fuck any of the major NPCs, especially from heavensward.

However I think about her and Sidurgu the most LOL.... sometimes its nice to have a fuckbuddy the same species as you,

also god anna/g'raha only doesn't happen because anna was already dating almond i think. or they put it off for a bit and then >crystal tower bullshit. but anna x literally npc (she would love to fuck any of them! except the antagonists. zenos she has complicated feelings about wrt sex after endwalker tho lol in the "i'm not like horny for it but i'd be willing to try it once"

anyway honestly none of these are crack they just aren't canon because >anna is in a commited relationship with almond. sincerely.

the REAL crack ship is Anna x Nael van Darnus but they’re untempered and just kind of imposingly here now and going by a different name and also extremely sexy and weaponizing it and Anna does have the hots for them, thank you. My friend Nael (his namesake is, yes, the ffxiv character) has good character Nael thoughts. Eula. Its good.

22) Your OC gets stranded on a deserted island for a month with two other characters (OC or NPC), who are two chars they would survive with and two chars they wouldn’t survive with?!

Well there’s no “hates anyone’s guts enough that she wouldn’t survive with them” lol except like maybe freaking varris or an ishgardian temple knight but those are more “Anna survives, they don’t”

As far as competence goes if you put her and Lyse together I’m pretty sure the only reason they’d remember to worry about food is one of them gets hungry. Whoops.

23) What is your OC's dream first date like? Would they go to a concert? Maybe they'd go dancing? Doesn't even have to be romantic, just two chars getting to know each other! Whaddya got planned?!

I don’t think Anna has dream first dates at all lol... tho she definitely likes showing of Ul’dah. Ther’es a lot of fun places and pretty corners to hang out and see. But really she. Idk. No preference. Anything’s good as long as they’re together.

...Anna is absolutely “down to fuck on first date” person tho so there’s that as well

24) What kind of kid would your OC be in a high school AU? Good grades? Playing in the school band? Maybe some sports stars? Maybe some embarrassing Homecoming asks? Or perhaps they're the class clown? Gimme all the deets you like!

Sorry op I don’t care about high school. Anna however is the local jock.

College is the same except she and Almond are jocks from rival schools LMAO

25) What is something from your OCs childhood that they look back on in shame? Did they have an emo phase? Terrible hair choices? Childhood heartbreaks?

Realistically whoever she first had sex with was a poor-ish choice. I’m sorry I’m trying to think of things that aren’t Anna’s sex life lol but unfortunately I do think she is of the “slept with some other teenager when she was a teen” type. The experience was nice but her looking back on it like. I know my standards are low but not THAT low.

26) What is your OC's battle theme/Boss music? All the enemies get cool themes, why shouldn't we?

My first thought was Anna should also have Answers as a boss theme and that’s, like, that feels unfair to take that from Nael van Darnus / UCOB, But Also. Now I can’t think of anything better.

27) What is your OCs favourite holiday and what is their favourite part of that holiday? What holidays do they go ALL OUT for?

THIS ISN’T THE ACTUAL QUESTION BUT I REMEMBERED HER BDAY IS NEW YEAR’S EVE AND I DO WONDER IF SHE HATES THAT A BIT OR NOT.

28) Who is someone that holds an embarrassing secret over your OC and what embarrassing secret does your OC hold over someone else? What are the secrets? Doesn't need to be dark or serious, could be that your OC knows who is a closet minion hoarder

Minfilia knows All of the embarrassing things Anna did and cannot remember she did. And also all of her poor relationship decisions. lol

29) Your OC is graduating high school this year and they know someone who's working on the yearbooks, so they can make their senior quote ANYTHING they want, no censors. What's their quote?

Remembers her search quote is “im gonna go fight god, y’all want anything” and that one

30) Does your OC have any scars? Any tattoos? Maybe some quirks about their body that isnt displayed in game?

1) missing a freaking arm lol. to be more specific she lost her right arm at about two/three inches below the shoulder. I end up removing it at elbow in screenshots bc it’s very easy to just make it vanish at that point in anamnesis lol and then I don’t have to edit in post. But yanno

2) not nearly as buff as I think she should be. She’s way stockier and absolutely not the stick of the thing all girl models are in game LMAO

3) had this been day one I would tell you I think she broke the height slider and sits more at 5’7 instead of the mandated 5’3 tallest for f au ra but thinking about height differences w/ almond (who definitely broke the height slider and is at least 5’9) and it’s fun if anna is at least 6 inches shorter than her gf. The only reason I’d bump it up is so that the height difference in shb when almond shrinks is more drastic.

4) I didn’t actually play 1.0 so I can’t have the legacy tattoo but Anna absolutely has that lol. whether she wanted it or not :) hydaelyn chose her :)

5) actually this is something the in-game model does ok but I am team anna with extremely small boobs.

31) High school AU, how does your OC ask their crush to the big school dance? Big surprises? What kind ofthestric Maybe they’d go stag? Any embarrassing moments they’d get to look back and laugh at?

32) What’s the most likely thing your OC would end up in jail for? This could be either a villain/criminal AU or just your usual deviancy hehe

Being an au ra in ishgard, :)

Or just being a heretic frankly.

Like, even before the murder that she could almost definitely be tried for in a court of law, ishgard’s racism is going to put her in prison much faster. Fuck ishgard.

33) What would your Ocs favourite Disney song be/the Disney song that matches most with their identity?

34) What is your Ocs biggest pet peeve? The thing that is so small but will just drive them up a wall?

35) Does your OC want kids and/or have kids? Would they ever consider adopting? Do they have names picked out at all or know how many they want?

Oh ye I answered this one already. Anna has no strong thoughts about kids this lifetime but due to alt universe memories has a habit of like. mom-ing @ characters even if they’re barely 5 years younger than her.

Realistically I don’t think she and Almond are thinking about it because both of them are very bad about thinking about the future that long term (thanks it’s the adhd mostly) and also I think Anna’s at “I don’t want one badly enough I’m going to try and bring one into the world like. in the middle of a war lol. that sucks. I remember that sucks” “how do you remember” don’t worry about it

HOWEVER am laughing about how we did the caster role quest and their reaction to taynor is just (almond voice) “babe can we keep him” (anna voice two quests later) “...babe I think we have to keep him”. He is simply both of their tragic backstories blended into one kid they have feelings

Also laughs about pyra. But that’s almond’s “kid” not anna’s.

Different shard lloyd doesn’t count.

UPDATE: LAUGHS IN ANNA ADOPTING A BABY DRAGON POST ENDWALKER. SHE DIDN'T EVEN EXPECT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN BUT SHE SIMPLY HAD NO CHOICE WHAT WAS SHE SUPPOSED TO DO LEAVE IT TO SUFFER? KILL IT???? ABSOLUTELY NOT

I simply wish Anna could be a real dragon. Or at least free transform.

No strong feelings as job/class like the only one I didn’t give her that I maybe should have in xiv was rouge but dark knight is already perfect for her in all the areas that monk isn’t, those are her two canon classes as far as she’s ever existed pre XIV

I mean. Spend time with gf. Is actually Anna’s first go to lkJSLFSF.... little stress that can’t be solved by cuddling or making out or having sex with gf..... BUT.... thinks fondly about how they got used to just stealing away to some remote corner of mor dhona to hang out. And make out.

Tbh I think one of the high places in mor dhona where you have a perfect view of the crystal tower (especially that bridge you can get to by mount, tho I wonder how private that actually is) is Anna’s favorite go-to tho... she likes seeing the crystal tower

Question #2: What’s your WOL’s pet peeve(s)? Do they announce their annoyance or are they more silent about it?

I have no idea what it is because I hate defining pet peeves and don’t ever know how to do it for characters but Anna’s pretty vocal about her annoyance with everything so lol

Question #3: What’s your WOL’s fondest childhood memory (if they have one – if not, what’s your WOL’s most notable memory)? How often do they reminisce about their past? Are they comfortable sharing when others ask?

God she has like a million fond memories with Minfilia but I think her fondest memory is how she used to just sneak into the palace and Raubahn had to find her and like gently remove her. she liked that he kept humoring her so much (she was like 8 when she started doing this) and so that’s her favorite thing

She reminisces about it a lot and is totally cool with sharing she loves talking about it.

....talking about Minfilia after banquet might be difficult tho.

Basically answered this in last set (but by different ppl so fair) but like. I don’t think Anna has any prefences she simply wants to spend quality time with her partner doing Literally Whatever (and maybe having sex.)

Question #5: Does your WOL have any fears/phobias? If so, what are they and how do they cope/deal with those anxieties?

I don’t think a lot scares her and she has no traditional fears of like. heights. Or spiders. Or anything. Girl kills primals for breakfast, it’s hard to phase her (is how I answered last time)

She does have a more trauma response debilitating fear of the sort: if you threaten her remaining arm or particularly hold an axe or blade to it, she will just shut down. She also is incapable of handling anything regarding limb removal rationally, she DOES also pass out when Raubahn loses his arm, and I’m thinking about the freaking msq required quest in STB where a samurai threatens to chop of someone’s arm and I’m like boy I hope Anna didn’t hear that! tho actually that might be after we break STB so maybe she doesn’t get to ruin trade relations by disemboweling someone. That’s probably a good thing.

*for me to consider: would be fun if she handles gore like very poorly (either now or just in general) but also mnk and drk are both SO hands on. Is she just used to puking afterwards. Maybe she doesn’t care.

Question #6: Why did your WOL start adventuring? What is their reason(s) for continuing their journey? Do they enjoy it and will they achieve their goal (if they have one)?

Well. Anna’s 1.0 wol and did the Gridania 1.0 intro—mostly because she was just adventuring for fun! She likes helping people and she’s full of restless energy and as much as she loves Ul’dah really desperately needed to get out and see the world. her dads encouraged her.

Afterwards like >echo >chosen by hydaelyn >best friends with Minfilia so when Minfilia was keeping track of things happening in Eorzea Anna was like sure I’ll go and help out. And then she accidentally became the WoL.

Like, god, I’ve talked about this a lot w/ Anna lol. she doesn’t dislike being the WoL but she’s not in it for fame or glory—tho that stuff IS nice—she’s just here because she simply could not sit by when she KNOWS she has the power to help. So here she is. And if she’s the only one who can do it? okay, then. Bring it on.

Sometimes its tiring, but. it’s a vicious cycle as well of her continuing to choose to be the WoL which means Hydaelyn favors her more and more which means there are more and more things that Only She can do. Of course she’s going to do them, she has to. She can’t live with herself if she doesn’t.

But, man. She’s not going to rest until the world stops needing her, so it sure is a good thing her friends get more obnoxious about helping her and also Almond’s here as of ARR to help shoulder the burden.

OH OKAY THIS ONE AGAIN. I have no strong music thoughts wrt instrumentals and the only song with lyrics that I super super relate to the xiv iteration of Anna is just Take me to War by the crane wives which only BARELY fits her lyrically.

Usually I have like whole playlists for characters within a month and Anna’s been around a year and I have jack shit for her lol. idk how this happened.

However. Holds up Answers. I simply think. As a 1.0 wol. It hits different.

Question #8: Besides being known as the Warrior of Light, is there anything else your WOL is recognized for? How does it affect their reputation? Do they like the attention it brings or rather have people forget/not associate them with said notoriety/influence?

She’s definitely well known for being a heretic in ishgard I think, which like. is not a fun thing to be well known for in ishgard, but also given that she’s >au ra, she wasn’t really going to avoid the racism anyway. She relishes the moment she flies into ishgard on dragon back SO much.

Otherwise I think she’s well known about Ul’dah for being either “best pugilist the guild produced” or “that spunky girl who was litearlly getting into everything everywhere (affectionate, if frustrated)” and to the palace guards in ul’dah as the kid Raubahn kept gently removing from the premises even though she should definitely get in more trouble for how often she snuck in. she does love all of this attention.

It’s the reputation as the WoL specifically I think sometimes she wishes she could do without :) dkr 30-50 hit her for A Reason

Question #9: Is there someone or something that never fails to light a huge smile on your WOL’s face? How do they express their happiness and love?

Like, Almond, her girlfriend, or Minfilia, her best friend, but I think all of the scions / anna’s friends in general make her go :D!!!! any time she sees them. Prone to spontaneous hugs and shouting their names loudly across the room, saysy “I love you” very easily

Question #10: What are some essential items your WOL carries with them at all times during their adventures or cannot be seen without? If so, what do these items mean to them? Are they more practical? Sentimental? You can just list if there’s no explanation!

I think she’d definitely be the type to Have something sentimental of someone she’s lost or loved to remind her of them but I also know realistically she is garbage at keeping track of important items so she actually travels as light as possible I think, because losing stuff is too frustrating

so it’s mostly practical stuff. Her sword is probably iconic but also I think almond carries the sword and hands it to anna rather than anna carry it herself lol

Question #11: Throughout their time adventuring in Eorzea, did your WOL have any embarrassing moments they can recall? Can they laugh at their own misfortunes or rather keep it under wraps to save themselves from further embarrassment?

Probably a bajillion embarrassing moments, Anna definitely laughs at her own misfortunes though that’s just who she is. Even mistakes are funny!! Tho there probably is one that she hates being reminded of I just: do not have the lore.

Question #12: Does your WOL have a nickname or title they go by if not called by their actual name? Does your WOL like being called by that name? Who came up with it and/or calls them by it?

LMAO NO, Anna’s too short to shorten further. I think her dad calls her sweetie a lot tho but it’s not... much.

I can’t think of bad habits I can only think of character flaws which, because this is a work of fiction, make her spicey. She should absolutely work on her acting before thinking and impulse reactions when she’s angry though. Lol.

Question #14: Who is your WOL’s Guardian Deity and how much do they worship/follow/believe in their own guardian and the rest of the Twelve?

I have her guardian deity as Nyema the spinner I think but she’s. raised more with doman beliefs wrt kami etc. she does not really worship or follow any of the Twelve and wrt Hydaelyn is. Like. Hydaelyn definitely exists but Anna’s ambivalent towards Hydaelyn’s divine power and any fond feelings she had towards Hydaelyn were gone after Anti-tower, at which point she became—well atheist is a joke and not the right word but very “yes I am aware that god exists, but I don’t’ fucking believe in her”

She believes in no god more than she believes in g’raha tia........

And also if the gods really wanted to help her then [gestures at dalamud]. So clearly they can’t be all that.

Question #15: What are some pointless things your WOL does that they’re pretty proud of themselves for?

Well now I’m just sad because I’m thinking about Anna mostly being ecstatic the moment she stops needing help getting dressed/undressed after losing an arm. I got nothing else.

Question #16: What was the lowest/darkest point in your WOL’s life? How did they get out of it and does it still affect/haunt them?

Like, facing dalamud, was bad. But the lowest point realistically was the aftermath, because, once again, losing five years and also your arm and also Louisoix your beloved mentor who everyone else is over grieving because they felt all five years and you’ve only felt it like it’s been hours, days, weeks—yeah, that was a pretty low point of her life

I think the recovery period doesn’t really have a lasting affect on her but she still struggles a lot with the grief and the frustration of having Only The One arm and hand

Question #17: How does your WOL introduce themselves to others? When does your WOL start acting casually around people?

Oh Anna’s casual from first moment lol. she’s here for a fun time not for a long time

I want her to have a really stupid scar on her foot because she kicked a cactuar without like. proper protection. It’s funny.

She probably has other scars too? Maybe??? Most of them she’s not self conscious about but most of them also have a cool or stupid funny story to go with them so she likes talking about them.

But also [gestures at her missing an arm] like that’s not a “scar” but that sure is. That Sure Is. Idk if she’s self-conscious about it exactly but I do think if someone makes a big deal out of it (overenthusiastic pity for her or w/e) she hates that a ton. She’s got less of a problem wrt how it looks and more of a problem with how much it’s crippled her lol and hates people making a big fuss about it.

Oh man I’m so bad w/ this lol because I just do not actually imagine EVEN CANON CHARACTERS with their voices lol they always have an internal voice for me that I just cannot match irl. At all.

my onlny real opinion is I’d say laura bailey but that’s bc she’s my favorite but also kaine is way too deep so like *I’ll come back to this but maybe [holds up gao’s mom from buddyfight]. I shouldn’t but also,

OH FUCK I FORGOT TO COME BACK TO THIS. Well okay see the thing is my internal voice for her – and the few times I’ve like “voice” “acted” anything for her – I pitch her up from my own voice, which like, is low but not that low. Anyway voice claims suck for me and her in game voice is like fine though her laugh should be kind of ugly and loud imo. Like moreso than it is in game. But also her ingame laugh is very good I should record it some time.

Question #20: What class did your WOL start their adventure as? Has it changed during the course of their journey? If so, is there a reason why they took up that job(s)?

Mnk!! Was a mnk in 1.0 mostly due to 1) auntie Fern 2) living like. down the street from the pugilist guild or whatever and very eager to bully them into teaching her how to fight. IGUESS MAYBE SHE WAS JUST A PUGILIST FOR ALL OF 1.0???? MAYBE SHE NEVER CANONICALLY PICKS UP MONK????????? I have no strong feelings about the monk quests is the thing.....

she picks up drk like a few weeks into HW because she’s coping poorly and really needed fray to tell her STOP. DOING EVERYTHING. YOURSELF. YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF TOO. MAYBE YOU DON’T NEED TO BE THE WOL ANYMORE. and now she’s committed. You can’t stop once you’ve stepped down the path.

She doesn’t do all of drk’s questline tho, just 30-50. And maybe helps with 50-60? Idk how we’re splitting up drk quests between our wols exactly other than anna for sure gets 30-50 and almond for sure gets 60-70 lol.

Question #21: Where is your WOL originally from? Do they ever think of returning or visiting their birthplace/hometown?

Technically from Doma!! But she has no memory of it, having lived in Ul’dah since she was 3. No strong feelings about returning, or about liberating it (for it being like, her father’s home anyway. She feels kind of weird about not having stronger feelings about it sometimes...)

Also the steppe is notably not her home except that her grandma belonged to the dotharl tribe and boy is Sadu happy to see her because she does, in fact, recognize Anna’s soul!? Wowie!

Question #22: How would you describe what your WOL is like when they’re in combat? Are they calm and collected? Rash and brash? Do they have a unique fighting style or do anything special?

Anna rushes in...

Very punch first ask questions later, a bit ruthless lol. rash and brash and also like. functionally a monk but also carries a sword. Lol.

Question #23: If your WOL had to describe themselves, their personality, and their goal/objective in life, what would they say?

I think Anna owns being WoL and the best pugilist ul’dah ever produced and the whole “kills gods for breakfast; my fists are legally classified as a weapon” thing. I think she struggles to put words to her personality other than knowing that everyone calls her loud and kind of brash.

Wrt her goal/objective she’s really like singleminded on saving the realm, and it keeps being in danger, and. She’s like. someone has to stop this and I’m the most well equipped for it, so you bet I’m gonna. Couldn’t live with myself otherwise.

Question #24: As Shadowbringers’s anniversary is approaching, how much has your WOL changed and grown since traveling to the First? What are they like now after the events of Shadowbringers?

Simply live quiet life with gf and like. probably continue helping out in at least the immediate area of ppl who need her and/or the scions with whatever they need. Hopefully it’ll just be normal research instead of world saving this time

OKAY LIKE... I actually don’t have any strong feelings about a mount and in fact have like negative strong opinions about a chocobo mount companion lol.... and idk how the funny horses from the EX fights work but man, do I want anna to just canonically be able to summon those for favors and rides lol. they use the fire pony in ishgard for the snow but also there was only one so she and almond have to share....

also no strong feelings about minions either other than I think it’s funny that middy canonically just snoops on you whenever he wants. Go away grandpa I’m trying to be intimate with my girlfriend. I have middy summoned like 80% of the time in game. Also my favorite mount is the ramuh mount I love lightning horse

I think she either wants to learn mining from Minfilia or leatherworking from her dad. Anna is 23 in 1.0 and ARR! And ages about one year per patch so by SHB she’s 27! Younger than any other Annas I’ve played with lol (WHICH IS WHY HER MOM-ING U IS SO JARRING WHEN IT HAPPENS)

She’s like 5’3 (max f au ra height)—I talked about it in interview but as much as I enjoy having her break the heigh slider she needs to be at least 6 inches shorter than almond. Sometimes... big gf... is what you need.

Oh she fucking owns them. A “hell yeah I am” kind of response before a thanks.

Oh totally. I think she’s not perfect and I think sometimes she accidentally lets something slip that she promised not to, but she will absolutely never do it on purpose

Definitely has some doman meal that her papa cooked that is technically her favorite food. She has not had anything like it since he died BUT when they take in doman refugees in msq someone does cook the dish and it’s not like exactly the same but she does fucking cry over it

She’s probably an okay cook but hasn’t had the time/patience to really get good at it again after losing an arm so like... ALSO. I really do imagine the scions just having like. a dedicated cook (f’lhammin I guess??) so anna very rarely has to cook for herself.... stb might be the first time she has to at regular and then it’s freaking camp food. Idk if lyse or Alisaie is good at cooking at all but they will ask Anna to do it before they ask Almond lol—

Ok beat me in combat”. Sounds like something she would do on the side to help her dad and potentially something she DID do when she was younger before she started adventuring lol

Anna is very easy to fuck (her standards are SO low) but significantly harder to land in a committed relationship with that isn’t just “fwb, exclusive with each other”

Okay. Man. The thought of it just not being in anna’s pocket is wild but I do think REALISTICALLY if she can put jobstones on a necklace to wear around her neck she’d do that. harder to lose them that way. In which case they’re probably also slightly smaller than they are in canon

However trying to conceptualize where to equip jobstones is really breaking my brain like I’d never considered this

Other option: attach funny stone into bracelet firmly held on wrist. Even harder to lose that I think

LIKE. GOD I HOPE. I CAN ANSWER. DUELED WITH RAMUH ENOUGH TIMES HE GRANTED HER COOL WEAPONS. BECAUSE GOD I WANT THAT TO BE THE LORE. Like otherwise she has a pair of knuckles (that’s not what they’re called but I forgot to look them up again) that her dad custom made that she prefers and also probably like. is still technically just using fray’s sword.

Question #39: Is there a certain moment/battle your WOL would like to revisit/redo if given the chance?

Genuinely me and Anna both hope things like refights/EX fights are canon because she’d love to 1v1 any primal that will let her. may like susano the most.

She’s simultaneously express thru actions and also thru words? She will never shut up about how much she appreciates you or loves you lol. and she also appreciates bold gestures because she knows actions speak louder than words sometimes

Oh is this just wrt expression actually, first time I read this I was like, which are their love languages they perform and which do they prefer to receive (which is a hard question for Anna because while I think action/touch is her highest she wouldn’t be put off by any,?) but if it’s just expression than yeah. Anna is very vocal about it, likes doing bold actions to show it, and also extremely touchy-feely hugs etc. kisses on cheek or head also if it’s platonic

also like me caught between “sex shouldn’t be considered wholly an expression of love but Anna does enjoy it a lot when it is” and “Anna’s opinions on sex are so far removed from romance that she probably doesn’t see it that way” THO I SUPPOSE. THE STRUGGLE OF A TANK SHOULD DEFINITELY BE WEARING ARMOR VS I LIKE SEEING ANNA’S ARMS AND ALSO A MNK CAN’T HAVE ANYTHING THAT WEIGHS THEM DOWN TOO MUCH.

Likes showing off her arms. Sun’s out gun’s out except sun is ALWAYS out if you’re anna. (...this wasn’t meant to be a gay about almond but also)

Like. dalmascan draped top is her official shirt. Likes it in purple. Wearing the. one of the saurrels . god that’s not how you spell it. but prefers anything that maximises movement and also is comfy. Probably gets around the “tanks need armor” by multiclassing and just having fists of earth up all the time. Lol.

However. She might. End up getting shoulder / arm armor tho is the thing because that vastly minimizes her losing another arm in battle. It’s a “only if I anticipate getting in a fight” thing (which. She gets into a lot of fights she isn’t anticipating and does not stop to change) but I think about it a lot. SHE MIGHT. MAYBE. WEAR ARMOR HERE MORE AFTER THE BANQUET GOES LIKE FREAKING THAT but i can’t decide

She does! I think like only at parties and special occasions tho. Or sometimes she’ll make a special occasion of it. wouldn’t dream of doing it daily

I contemplated above and while I am going to say for sure she knows how to pace herself / mitigate the alcohol so that she isn’t wasted immediately but either au ra have a secret lore that makes them more resistant to alcohol or she’s a tiny lightweight just because her bodymass is. Small.

Mostly same as normal but with less inhibitions and way stupider. Impulse control who? Also super clingy/cuddly lol

I tweeted this but like. I know Carteneau is a funny pvp area now HOWEVER. Anna’s thought process is like. thousands of people died at Carteneau and by all accounts I should have died with them and not gotten a funny teleport out form Louisoix. It’s not quite a survivor’s guilt or a wish she’d died kind of thing (SHE VERY MUCH WANTS TO LIVE LOL.) but it’s wanting to honor them—all the people she knew, all the people she didn’t. and if her death is what it takes to make a monument of the sacrifice and slaughter that happened on that field, then ok.

Granted i don’t genuinely know what the housing item market is on ffxiv tho I assume since player crafting and scarcity it’s different than it would like realistically be lol. She’s coping pretty okay but 1) still cannot write with her left hand 2) there are a lot of things that you need two hands to do that she can, obviously, not do. Also azem is enjoying the adventure of course
