jade: i do. i wanted to talk to ix and mileena about something, so we had to come here. it's about... my sin

jade: just a moment ago, asch called me "necromancer"-- a shameful name i was given back in our own world.
jade: i was known for removing dead bodies from battlefields and using them to experiment with creating replicas. i'm the father of formicry-- and, replica technology

jade: when i became aware of this world's exoflection technology, i was quite surprised. it resembles formicry-- or rather, it's everything i ever wanted formicry to be.
ix: formicry and exoflection aren't the same, though
jade: that's right. i'm not sure how much luke told you, but there are many differences. the biggest one is that replicas don't retain their original's memories. that... was the biggest problem, for me.
mileena: ....maybe they're happier without their memories

jade: right, let's return to that. you see, there's actually on person on the list of exoflection candidates from aldurant that we've intentionally skipped
ix: what!? why?
jade: first of all, we determined that the probablity of exoflecting that person correctly was exceedingly low. the alighnment of [the kaleidescope they use to exoflect things] would have been perfect, without the slightest flaw. which brings us to two main points
jade: "the time the world was initially exoflected has to agree" and "it has to be necessary for the world"
mileena: jade, when did you have time to research this?
jade: well, they say a magician never reveals their secrets
asch: you're the only one who says that
jade: sometimes you really are just like luke

jade: as for me and luke, we showed up at the same time... so i decided to look into it.

jade: ...given that we failed to dispose of her, the chances of her being alive and getting exoflected are high. For Dist's imitation... it might be all he needed.

anyway yeah someone remind me later that if i really want bullshit on the technicalities of exoflection to come back to this quest but dear god jade just went on and on and i'm like curious because i saw shit about luke, and maybe how luke got exoflected if he's a replica (jade may have expected complications???), blah blah blah blah blah, it's fine

like there was also some general infodump about nebilim's role in jade (+dist's) life but like. this is nothing new to totabyss fans.
