The cannons, though? The cannons? Those are a big deal!! Everyone knows about them everyone thinks about them no one has any fucking clue how they work, either, not really. Yes you can put the truth on the page and some people will tell you you’re full of shit, of course that’s not true, this is not the government approved story, where did you get this nonsense from
But other people. Other people will wonder. These are high claims to be made about something, and exactly the kind of claims the government would want to hide, hm? And it’s not like—it’s not like the government has ever said how they work. They just say the aegises are willing. That’s it.
Tell them the truth and some of the populace will scoff but others will wonder, either because they are scrutinizing enough to realize the governments are full of shit or because they just like a good conspiracy theory. Others will wonder and—because they have no idea how the cannons actually work, just assumptions built on the little they know—the truth is as valid of a possibility as the lie they’d been believing before.
