i was gonna make an image but it became really impractical and added nothing that text couldn’t (other than like being able to see their faces i guess)

They Are All Good Friends so it seems silly to reiterate each time

riku and namine
- dated briefly but it didn’t work out; very close and care deeply for each other but don’t trust each other w/ everything anymore (this is healthier for them; they were never really trusting each other with everything to begin with and riku was weirdly overprotective about it anyway and he’s working on not being that anymore but)

riku and kairi
- riku is more open with kairi becuase he’s not afraid of burdening her and kairi actively encourages him not to keep secrets so he caves; kairi cherishes this trust

namine and kairi
- like sisters; have a routine of dancing to kairi’s mixtapes together when in a bad mood. like with riku kairi wants to help introduce namine into all the shit she doesn’t know (due to being a replica) and namine loves kairi’s energy even if it’s exhausting to keep up with sometimes
(“like sisters” but i do not want to insist that the bond between them couldn’t be gay; all five tehm are a bit poly qpp so it. well.)

namine and sora
- are quiet together a lot; the friends who talk about OCs together; sora writes stories and namine draws art. they probably have whole universes they’ve created that it feels hard catching everyone else up on

sora and kairi
- best friends since childhood have known each other since they were babies, ride or die. will throw down for the other and with the other without thought. epitome best friends. very stupid always enable each other.

sora and riku
- are extremely in the fic itself “too aware that the other is handling their own issues to deal with mine also” but are good friends and vibe easy.

sora and kano
- currently dating; have a complicated past but sora wants to give kano a second chance becuase he thinks he deserves one and also wants kano to know that he is always allowed to choose his own happiness. kano is like I Don’t Deserve You, But Okay, and very very very grateful that sora doesn’t hate him

kairi and kano
- met at a time when the other was the only person they could be wholly honest with; that bond never really faded. they both understand things about each other that no one else ever will. moirails. emotional support bastards. etc.

kano and riku
- have an ongoing mario party rivalry. their relationship is really under developed in the fic but i think that even if they aren’t close (and i think they will be, they just need time) they also are the kind of friends in which if you need someone to help you you call the other and they will be there at a drop of a hat.
ALSO HILARIOUSLY KANO MADE RIKU’S DARKNESS PROBLEMS WORSE BUT WHILE KANO IS AWARE HE FUCKED WITH RIKU’S DARKNESS HE HAD NO IDEA HE CAUSED [GESTURES], AND NEITHER DOES ANYONE ELSE. i just think about it a lot.

kano and namine
- also underdeveloped but i think they bake together. that’s my thought. also they sit and listen to kairi’s mixtapes together, much to kairi’s embarassment/fondness when she finds out


joseph
- the almost ienzo looking kid with the long black hair and blue jacket and pink shirt with random stuff on it: he’s an oc who is a replica who exists in this universe for reasons. mostly he’s everyone obnoxious little brother figure. riku is exasperated namine is fond kairi is like IF YOU DON’T WANT HIM, I’M KEEPING HIM. i don’t know how sora and kano feel about him in depth. probably no objections.

“replica of who” experiment in which vexen just started fucking around and combining data of multiple people, he definitely has zexion data in there and who knows what else. he’s thirteen. he’s exactly what you expect a thirteen year old with no confidence issues to be.
