ftpverse tldr
basic plot
ftpverse's basic plot is that repliku, after all-but dying towards the end of CoM (ftpverse started in 2010, so obviously, long before kh3 existed) is transported by Some Random Guy to a parallel universe where riku never existed so that repliku can get a second chance at life, where he can learn to exist as Just Himself
so that's the short of ftpverse! but that's not enough lore to cover things that'll come up in dywc sdlfkjsfj so
let's go character by character
characters
repliku: goes by riku because he started the series with amnesia and it was the only thing he could remember. hasn't found a reason to change his first name, though he adopted gainsborough as a last name after aerith adopted him. spent the entire series working through his trauma from CoM until he finally stopped having a skewed sense of self worth and started being comfortable with himself. lead a replica rebellion, briefly. that was a mess.
namine: replica created from riku's memories. still kind of figuring out What The Fuck she's doing. has a lot of trauma from the events of dead inside but they're wildly different trauma than canon namine has, of course.
sora: ftpverse was a roleswap of sorts, which featured sora falling to darkness in kh1 with riku as the "hero". so sora's got a past of dabbling in darkness, working with maleficent, being held captive by maleficent for months, and also his shadow. we'll talk about his shadow in a second, but know that by the time ftpverse has ended he's mostly gotten his darkness back under control. but i wouldn't rule out him succumbing to it again
kairi: not a keyblade weilder in this universe, because 1) she was born and raised on destiny islands 2) aqua deliberately passed the keyblade to sora. kairi's learned a lot of magic from tifa and rinoa, learned how to fight bare handed like tifa, and has a lot of bitterness in her over her friends abandoning her for three months. they've mostly patched it up since then but, still,
kano: aka shad, oc, manifestation of sora's darkness, his "shadow". sora's darkness split from him with the sole goal of dragging sora back into darkness but... accidentally developed his own personality and desires, developed a crush on sora, and eventually rebelled against his purpose (with Great Fuss). he and sora shared a body for a while, eventually got on better terms, and now they're dating. yeehaw.
joseph: oc, replica. vexen was dicking around with genetic slurry (well, taking data and making slurry of it, more technically) and producing a handful of replicas that were Entirely Unique. joseph is one of them. joseph is the only survivor of all of them. he's been a mainstay since dead inside, and serves the obnoxious little brother role to the main cast. (he really is good friends with all of them, though. probably the only friend riku had while otherwise isolated in castle oblivion, and he and namine spent months together too, so like) (there's a reason i waffle often between ftpverse main 5 and main 6, and that's becuase joseph is the 6th, even if he's not quite as close as the other five, but still very good friends with them all)

basics
tos but i stole xc2's lore and ran. xc2 has this system of blades/drivers in which blades are Essentially Magical Slaves in the form of a cool video game power up. like blades are people. they're sentient. but they're bound to their drivers through ~magic~ and cannot exist unless in resonance with a driver. (a full lore doc on blades can be found here)
ywkon is a deconstruction of this system ft the tos cast.
ywkon ends with them rewriting the system so that blades can exist without a driver / outside of resonance, but somehow upon being transported into the dwyc shit that got broke and reverted so colette and mithos both need a driver or they'll have to be content existing As A Rock
kratos is fine becuase he's a flesh eater (god, xc2, i hate that term) which means when he was five minutes old some asshole humans cut him open and shoved a human heart in his chest. he doesn't need a driver anymore but also Oh God Does He Have Trauma
other blade notes: blades can't die unless the core crystal is shattered, if they die they just revert to the core crystal and can be reawakened later by a new driver. they lose their memories when they die, except 1) ywkon also fixed that when it ended 2) colette and mithos, who are both aegises, were an exception to the memory loss rule anyway
flesh eaters don't have the option to revert to their core crystal so if they die they just die

let's do key terms first instead of characters actually

blade: sentient race of magical (often) humanoid beings (there are exceptions) who can use ether artes (magic) while humans cannot. they need a driver to even exist in the world (except we fixed that) and blah blah the rest of the stuff. they run linux.
aegis: if a blade is a computer than an aegis is a network admin. super powerful blades that can fuck around and rewrite the network (and also monitor every blade on the network, recieving and storing/sorting information they send) and also like, rewrite the world they live in, if they wish, though it takes a lot of power and careful calculation, and can't necessarily be done on a whim. in ywkon, you need two aegises combined to rewrite anything. just one isn't enough
if i got into the exact differences between ywkon aegises and xc2 vanilla aegies (and, subsequently, how alvis is still yet different because You Know), we'd be here all day
but it's worth noting that colette and mithos aren't functioning as aegises in dywc! sure, they're still super powerful, and can calculate things faster than a regular blade can, but because they are away from their world and their network, they can't actually influence anything. just because they're admins doesn't mean they're admins of this network!!! here they're just regular ass users. (which is probably why they both need resonance. they were adopted into the xc2 "canon"'s blade system as blades+ and. well xc2’s blade system neVER FIXED ITS SHIT

blade eater: human who's "eaten" part of a blade's core crystal. this can have varying positive or detrimental effects and is a pretty rare science/occurence. often you have blade donors who split their core crystal with their driver (which can save their driver from certain death if done fast enough) and the driver then gets more constant passive boosts that the blade's element grants and also can't get sick / doesn't age / so on and so forth. also a blade eater will share physical pain between their core crystal donor. okay nice.
more might come up later but now that we've gotten blade basics done twice over let's. fucking.

colette: the only one here from ywkon vanilla (I'M LIVING MY BEST LIFE) - artificial aegis created by humanity's hands to recreate the original aegises power. over a hundred years old, spend most of those hundred years in captivity before she was fused with martel (one of the original aegises) and together they escaped / gained lloyd as their driver. eventually she and martel got separate bodies again and also she started dating lloyd. nice. considers zelos - the other artificial aegis - her brother. they're good siblings brent. (zelos is also dating lloyd. Lloyd's Aegises Love Him)
kratos: from wbywkon, which is an rp retelling of ywkon that kicks off ten years before ywkon because tos lloyd and sheena hopped universes and freed zelos and then Things Kept Going To Shit. rp's only halfway done (though it will still end with everyone rewriting the blade system to match ywkon vanilla's rewrites) but ANYWAY. kratos is a flesh eater who's 500 years old, drove the original aegises and stopped the first great war before fucking off to become a hermit with said aegises for hundreds of years, though martel dying sent both him and mithos into depression,,,,,, anna is the only human he trusts. i think that's everything specifically relevant to kratos? oh yeah except he's like 5x braver and a better person than tos kratos is, isn't a shitty dad (he did vanish on lloyd for five years but thought lloyd was dead, to be fair) (and unlike Some Assholes he's not going to leave the planet instead of sticking around to raise and live with his son) so imagine Kratos, But Less Shitty
anna: also from wbywkon, because wbywkon features everyone going on a roadtrip and actually means she and mithos have Chemistry and Know Each Other which is Fun. human, blade eater. her adoptive dad / blade is malos (IT'S FUN SEEING HIM HERE BUT HE'S AN AEGIS AND DEPRESSED) who donated half his core crystal because Anna Almost Died. (anna irving voice) "I THINK BLADES SHOULD VOTE" idk this is soupy she cares about blade rights and would throw hands over it. she did almost die again after getting blade eatered because her town was destroyed by an aegis cannon blast but miraculously malos got up a shield and they survived!!! She Didn't Tell Anyone, Though. ghosted on her family for 5 years (slightly better than the 15 in ywkon vanilla,) and though she and kratos have sorted that out there is some beef there, probably,
