rarsneezesthinking about my headcanons for anna irving's family.................. thought fuck it i'll write up a lore post
> Anna Irving Has Two Dads
> marcos is her biological dad. where the other biological parent is is [big fat shrug emoji], but anna doesn't remember them in any case.
> marcos is Tall and Beefy. anna inherited this from him (she's somewhere between 5'7 nd 5'9 depending on how i feel that day). honestly if lloyd's got beef it's becuase he inherited it from anna's side of the family. sorry kratos, you're kind of a twink
> marcos did not give two shits about the desians and was not about to take their abuse lying down, which he did everything he could to instill that kind of mindset into anna. he succeeded! yes, including the "it's better to go down fighting than survive a coward" bit
> shin is anna's other dad. born and raised in mizuho, he was sent to sylvarant to be part of the information network. Whoops, Accidentally Fell In Love.
> but before we get too much about the thrilling romance (i don't have much of that actually) i have to make a few things clear about shin and by that i mean clear about luca
> luca is anna's adopted sister and i want it on record that she is trans.
> luca is also a half-elf! shin ended up in sybak briefly as part of mizuho nonsense and took one look at how sybak was treating this kid and went "GIVE ME / THE DAUGHTER" and took her and ran. it definitely involved luca shoving a fireball in someone's face.

> between the "marrying out of the clan and without permission" and the "literally willingly joining a war against the desians without permission", shin is no longer on speaking terms with mizuho, which i do in fact love about him
> also!!! anna learned hand-to-hand combat from shin, as well as how to fight with a dagger. i DEFINTELY made a comparison fucking somewhere of someone comparing anna's grace-of-a-warrior vibes to sheena ("strangely enough") and that comparison exists precisely becuase anna was in fact trained in the same kind of martial arts as sheena was.

> i wish i had more thoughts about anna and her adopted half-elf sister but i don't. i do think they were terrors, however.
> since i'm here i'll go on to include: Anna's about twenty or so when the desians raid luin and drag her off to asgard ranch / angelus project bullshit. marcos dies in this raid. luca goes missing. shin lives, but he likely dies later just so that he doesn't exist in symphonia's plot because if he was alive during symphonia's plot he WOULD fuck it up i HAVE written a fic about this
> the idea is that luca gets taken to a ranch but then the desians realize she's a half-elf and shit happens. idk what kind of shit. either she stays (unlikely, but possible) or she leaves and they let her go and then maybe she goes back to find shin and joins that resistance. OR she becomes a renegade! who knows!
